The 3rd Annual Mickaela's March for the Uninsured 5K & 1 Mile Stroll
The Mickaela Foundation surpassed the 100 treatment fund goal set for 2007, unfortunately that also has all but depleted our funds. We have seen some lean times, but we will do what we have to do to make sure we can help all who need us! We are averaging 10 -15 applications per month so far for 2008, so we are on a serious mission!

"One night you'll never forget". The Yellow Team supports The American Cancer Society. The Relay for Life celebrates survivors, and the lives of those we have lost. We were a small team, and 24 hours was tough - but seeing the luminarias around the lake helped to inspire each lap. Way too many bags!! We'll post pics as we get them in.

Clean Cars to Fight Breast Cancer!
Friday and Saturday, May 18th and 19th.
The Riverboat Express Carwash (map) partnered with three cancer fighting foundations in it’s Grand Opening Fundraiser. For those two days, all express carwash sales were donated to fight breast cancer through the American Cancer Society – Great West Division, the Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers Foundation, and The Mickaela Foundation. What a fantastic opportunity for all uninsured breast cancer patients in our state! Thank you Barry & Susan at Autawash for your support to the cause - you have made a difference!
Our Open House & Mickaela Birthday Party Pictures This event was a phenomenal success. We were able to thank the people and organizations that have helped us get where we are. ssic, at Box Elder Creek Golf Course to Benefit The Mickaela Foundation -
July 17th, 2006
Shotgun Willie's has provided support for the Mickaela Foundation for the past two years, including their "always wild Charity Golf Event", and The Winter Ski Trip!
June 25, 2008 - A note about those who may feel that having a Sponsor like Shotgun Willies may be inappropriate for a breast cancer organization: While it would be wonderful to have access to all the money needed to provide the treatment funds requested from more traditional sources, The Mickaela Foundation prefers to remain objective and non-judgmental about those who would like to make a difference in their community.
The recent incident at the Broomfield golf tournament was an unfortunate miscommunication. And although their activities are not exactly family oriented, they do not tout it as anything other than adult entertainment. The Mickaela Foundation was not the beneficiary of that event. 9News incorrectly reported that we were on their website. We did not know anything about it until we began to receive calls asking us about it. Kyle Clark at 9News stated that Shotgun's told him that we would receive the funding from the tournament.
In 2006 Shotgun Willie's sponsored several fundraising events. We appreciate the assistance and while some news organizations would like to describe it as "taking money from a strip club" we look at it a bit less sanctimoniously. The money they donated helped to pay for several breast cancer bills. It is less relevant how the money is raised. It is not illegal, and news reporters trying to make a bigger story could perhaps better spend their time helping the community than fanning the flames of an already healing story. There is plenty going on in the world.
